If you just go for a paddle than you can stop thinking about wanting to go for a paddle.

2016: Post 10 – A Little Ocean Play

Yesterday a bunch of us went to St. Philips.  It was supposed to be west 30 km winds (but was actually much less) and so Neville and I took our plastic kayaks to do a little playing in the rocks while the other guys carried on down the shore in their sea kayaks.

I didn't take many pictures but here is a little sequence of shots of Neville in one particular spot...

Waiting to enter

He goes for it

The incoming water catches the kayak's edge

A capsize occurs

A combat roll ensues

He paddles out of the danger zone

Neville has been finding the water will catch his Hammer 's edge if he isn't paying attention when he is in the active water.  It caught him yesterday but he remained calm and executed an extremely smooth roll... it was so quick and smooth that it looked as if he had intentionally set up, capsized, and rolled up.  I wish I would of had it on video...
